Hybrid video files containing Dolby Vison and HDR/HDR10+ tags, only display the DV tag as default as seen in the above image.
Can we get video files to display HDR/HDR10+ tags for people with non Dolby Vision displays, such as Samsung?
IF ANYONE ELSE WITH ‘NON DOLBY VISION’ DEVICES WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE, PLEASE LIKE THIS COMMENT!
Could you run one of these files through mediainfo and post the output here?
Also, I don’t think Samsung TVs support DV so it will fall back to the HDR format. In the pre-playback screen it will show DV as the primary encoding but will fall back for the devices that don’t support DV

Samsung TVs do not support Dolby vision content, that’s correct.
The Issue is the files that are ‘hybrid’ containing BOTH Dolby Vison and HDR10+ formats, they default to labelling the file as Dolby Vison even when it’s disabled in the Infuse settings. 2025 has seen a surge of HDR10+ content and defaulting to Dolby vision, makes it’s difficult to know what content is HDR10+ in my library. Is there a way to add a setting to enable HDR10+, so it defaults to labelling the file as HDR/HDR10+ for non Dolby Vision TVs.

I don’t believe there is a way to turn off the DV tag and display the HDR/HDR10+ tag but just brainstorming here, would it be usable for you if they showed both (all three)?

Displaying DV HDR HDR10+ would be a perfect solution, or just ‘DV HDR10+’ as It’s only the ‘hybrid’ files that contain HDR10+ format that’s the issue, as normal HDR is the standard presumed fallback. Either option works.

How are you getting Dolby Vision to show on your movie tags? Is there a tutorial or YouTube video to show what the process is?
If your file is a DV file that Infuse recognizes as DV you’ll see the DV tag.

I also have a Samsung TV and play content in which the video includes both DV and HDR information, and I’m never sure how Infuse is actually playing it. Would you recommend disabling Dolby Vision in Infuse’s settings, or does it make no difference?

YES! Disable Dolby Vision in infuse settings and the method to see what type of HDR is playing is to use the ‘small remote’ and select settings and check ‘Picture mode’ make sure it is NOT on ‘film maker mode’ and you will see if it is HDR or HDR PLUS
Thanks, I’ve been able to confirm that Infuse recognizes and sends the correct format to the TV: HDR10 or HDR10+ in movies with multiformat video information. 
The downside is that in the brief technical info Infuse displays, it only shows DV.

YES! Infuse discriminates against us Samsung users (LOL) and defaults all content to show Dolby Vision tags, even when you have turned It off in the settings! My request is that they show HDR and HDR Plus tags on NON Dolby Vision devices!!
They have added my request as a ‘suggestion’, so please like my original message, if you have not already done so. The more likes, the more likely thy will do it!!

Hi, I’m also seeing the same thing on files that are a mixture of DV and HDR10+. It’s very tricky if you own a Samsung TV to tell if you have the correct file as DV looks the same as DV + HDR10+. Thanks!
Hey guys, its my first post, so I’m hoping this is the right way to do this.
I have a samsung tv, which only has HDR10+. I have a bunch of hybrid files which only detect as DV (files with the DV metadata removed will show the HDR10+ in the player statistics).
I cannot for the life of me, get the HDR10+ to be on the TV. I have turned Dolby Vision off in the infuse settings (which was suggested in this earlier article, Unable to play HDR10+ from a dual profile DV/HDR10+ files ), but for whatever reason, in the player statistics it still shows DV.
I have included a screenshot showing the player statistics displaying DV even with DV off (hopefully that makes sense).
Originally I thought the issue was with Plex (I use Plex via infuse on my apple tv), but even after adding my NAS files to infuse directly as a network share, the same issue arises.
Here’s the mediainfo snippet from the hybrid file its most recent occurred with (though, for the record, I have never seen infuse detect HDR10+ from any hybrid file)

I unfortunately have a bunch of both DV and HDR10+ mixed devices, so just removing the DV data for all the hybrids isn’t an option.

Right now for Dolby Vision content Infuse shows a DV label. But for HDR10+ content it just shows HDR. There is nothing to distinguish between normal HDR and HDR10+.
It would be good if it showed something to identify the difference.
For videos that contain HDR10+ only Infuse would display HDR10+.
If a video has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ you would see DV.
If a video has standard HDR10 you would see HDR.
If you are seeing problems here, could you send in a sample video file we can review here?
