I would love to spam in this topic as well, to move it up
At the very bottom of the details screen on AppleTV, Infuse shows the file name and some codec details. I’d quite like to see the file size listed here as well, perhaps next to the codec and resolution info on the righthand side?
Not why this isn’t more common. Seems a lot of people that use Infuse just throw their files around willy nilly
Hello there, will this be consider in the future? I was thinking also as a “nerd” button where we could see all the metadata of a video file: resolution, frames per seconds, encoding etc
so far there is no tag on this post yet so it’s not planned but sooner or later in sure it’ll come
in the meantime i made the filename contain the file size so i at least know that (especially when coming to the decision to delete the file it’s really useful)
You should be able to see all these things when you do the pull down from the top of the screen: Resolution, frame rate, SDR/HDR/DV, Audio format/number of channels caudio format/number of channels (when they are playing, some files report as being HDR, but when they start playing from an EMBY server, infuse seems to recognize that they are Dolby Vision, and plays them accordingly). GEEK MODE could have file name, file size, and path.
How do I see file-size? It helps to know how much cellular plan data I’ll be using and whether I can expect to load fast direct streaming over my cellular. When I see it buffering I can’t be sure if it’s a massive hundreds of megabyte video, or if my connection is just spotty. If there is no way could you please add it asap?
Infuse is way prettier than nPlayer but unfortunately I keep finding ugly nPlayer is more practical in every way because its like a file manager that exposes this info I really need. It may not seem important but it really is. Minimalistic aesthetic design is awesome until you find yourself with less usability. So yeah I use Infuse mainly on my Apple TV and keep resorting to nPlayer for iOS for a variety of reasons even though I’d rather not.
I’d like this feature too. It could sit next to the file name on the detail page for each file, and be enabled/disabled with a toggle. Please?
I moved your post to a suggestion thread requesting this feature.

Dear, can you support the size of the file? It’s urgent for us.
Size, that is, the space occupied.

I’ve batch-renamed my files to append unique characters to the ends of their filenames that tell me, at a glance, a files’ resolution, codec, location, and file size — all in just a few characters — without hindering accurate TMDB identification.
For each media title in my collection, I’ve appended its automagically-script-generated file size and an additional two or three characters from a very small selection of easily-identifiable-from-a-distance ascii symbols (^, #, |, •, +, ±) and Greek alphabet characters (δ, Θ, θ, Φ, φ) AFTER the media title and year — and it only takes one to identify both the resolution and codec, and a second to indicate its location.
I can even tell from these simple filename addons if I own the title on disc or not, (and if so, which kind); and if it isn’t yet included in my movies collection tracked at blu-ray.com (because the title hasn’t yet been added to their database).
…
I’d suggest using a batch/bulk file renamer on all the video files on each portable hard drive and append, say, the drive letter of that portable (or it’s color, if each is different), in the form of
(by drive letter)
“A Complete Unknown (2024) F”
(if on your blue passport drive)
“The Substance (2024) 4K DV 32gb Blue”
Sometimes desired features get added. Till then, I improvise. And often, find a solution I will find to be more efficient, less cluttered, and ultimately preferable to having a whole new niche data point added to the UI.
Today’s 8.1.7 update adds new info to the details page including file size, bitrate, and framerate.
Thanks for adding this.
Checked in the settings menu and I’m running 8.1.7 (5205).
I don’t see file size when looking at a movie, either up with the rating/duration/year/etc or down by the filename/codec detail.
I’m using Jellyfin as a server. Is that the issue?
Are you using Library Mode?
For existing items you may need to use the clear all metadata option in Settings > General to update existing items with this new info.
Yes, and that fixed it. Thank you.
