Share Blobs

Yes I have just completed the 5.1 to 4.4.2 tethered jailbreak and must say it worked!   It would be interesting if we could find an untethered version that would also work.   If I could find some blobs for 4.3 or 4.4.3 I could test them out.    I have tried a blob for 4.4.4 but cannot get it to work.    The closest I got with 4.4.4, was everything went smooth with the process, but when I connected it to the tv, it said please connect to itunes.

Same issue

Can’t exit from dfu with 444

But untheetred 442 is working fine but eithout reboot or unpluging power cable

What do you mean by that? How can you call it untethered if it can’t be rebooted?

Also if someone doesn’t mind posting their 4.4.2 blobs somewhere, I like to try it on mine as well. This is getting harder and harder to believe.

I think he meant tethered.

Check http://firecore.com/messages for your URL to 4.4.2 blobs. Again you’re doing this at your own risk.

Could someone post a TinyUmbrella blob for 4.4.4? I only have OS X so the iFaith blobs won’t work, right?

thanks for any help!

thanks for all the feedback!!! seems like we have some success.

So what I have found is if you use an untethered blob to restore your apple tv it stays stuck in dfu mode once it is done being restored in itunes.   Whereas the tethered blob stays in dfu mode also, but can get out of dfu mode once you boot tethered through sea0nPass.

Are you referring to using a blob from a different device to downgrade? Because if the blob is the one for your device than the above statement is incorrect.

Matt,

Would it be possible if you can send me the url for the 4.4.2 blobs?

Thanks

I’d much rather do this in a controlled setting with the couple I have sent it to so that they can report back if it worked. If it did then we can make it a more widespread option.

Yes, I am referring to using different blobs to downgrade your apple tv.   I can say the 5.0 to 4.4.2 tethered downgrade does work(using a 4.4.2 blob from another device).   It would be interesting to figure out what makes this work because we all thought all blobs were specific to each device.

I think the only thing that the signed IPSW does is tell iTunes that the version is official and can be restored. I don’t think they compare ECIDs. They could start in the future.

If that was the case wouldn’t 4.4.4 work ?

That is what I am trying to determine.

When I try 4.4.4, it seems like the apple tv is stuck in dfu mode once it is done the restore in itunes.   At least with 4.4.2 I can get it out of dfu mode by running seas0nPass and selecting boot tethered.

I haven’t tried but

im assuming the untethered one is 4.4.4? and tethered is 4.4.2

You beat me to it lol

How are you connecting the device? Have you tried restarting it using the remote or exiting out of recovery mode (if that is what it is in) through TinyUmbrella?

can someone post a 4.4.2 blob thanks
