I have Apple TV 4K 2nd gen . Would you suggest I upgrade to TVOS 26 developer beta or wait for public release in September @James ?
could I face many bugs after updating to beta or wait for stable till September ?

If you’re a glutton for punishment and don’t mind the possibility of trashing your library and any other apps you may have on the ATV then maybe.
After many lessons with beta OS software in years gone by I’ll wait for other more resilient souls take that chance and I’ll wait for the public release version.

are you a developer and do you actually plan on doing actual beta testing? or is it a case of FOMO?
if you have a non-production device and actually plan on doing actual testing and reporting then, yes you should.
if it’s just a case of FOMO and you have no intention of doing anything other than being able to say i have tvOS26 installed then, no you should stay away from it. it is no where near being ready for daily use, and is solely intended for developers to use to ensure their apps can take adavantage of new featurs before public release in october.

I’ve installed 26 on a couple of my Apple TVs (64GB versions) and it seems very stable at the moment. I’ve not seen any crashes nor bugs in the apps I most use; Infuse and YouTube.
how many developer beta have u got till now for Apple TV from apple ?
Also keep in mind things that may be working in beta 1 could break in a subsequent betas, and would require changes from either Apple or us to fix. This happened last year with iOS 18 beta 3 where we had to make changes to how Infuse fetched and stored artwork.
Also, just installing tvOS betas is not always smooth sailing so your YMMV.
