Hi Infuse team,
First, thank you for adding the immersive environments to Infuse on Apple Vision Pro. They are beautifully designed and have made Infuse a much more compelling app for watching movies on Vision Pro.
I would like to request separate controls for ambient environment lighting and accent/decorative lighting within these environments.
Current behavior
At the moment, the existing lighting slider appears to control the entire environment together. It changes both:
-
The general ambient illumination of the room
-
Bright decorative or emissive elements, such as LED strips, illuminated Infuse logos, lamps, and similar scene lights
This means there is currently no way to keep the environment softly illuminated while independently reducing or disabling the brighter decorative lights.
The problem
Several of the immersive environments contain prominent light sources close to the viewing area. For example, the Cinema environment has illuminated Infuse logos near the screen, while the Room environment contains multiple LED-style light strips.
These elements look attractive as part of the environment design, but they can also be visually distracting while watching a movie. On my Vision Pro, bright localized lights around the screen can also produce noticeable glare or internal reflections through the headset’s optics, reducing perceived clarity and making longer viewing sessions less comfortable.
Reducing the current lighting slider does not fully solve this because it also darkens the rest of the environment. The result I am looking for is not necessarily a completely dark room or the Void environment. I would like to retain some soft ambient illumination while removing the concentrated bright elements around the screen.
Proposed solution
Please consider splitting the current lighting control into two independent settings:
-
Environment Brightness
Controls the general ambient illumination and overall visibility of the room. -
Accent Lights
Controls illuminated logos, LED strips, decorative lamps, and other bright emissive elements within the scene.
Setting Accent Lights to zero should completely disable these decorative light sources without forcing the rest of the environment into darkness.
Ideally, Infuse could remember these values separately for each environment, since the amount and placement of accent lighting vary considerably between scenes. The existing appearance could remain the default so that nothing changes for users who enjoy the current design.
Other VR video players I use, including SKYBOX and Moon Player, provide more granular control over environment lighting. Being able to independently adjust room brightness and brighter scene elements makes it much easier to create a comfortable, distraction-free viewing setup.
If implementing a continuous second slider is difficult because some of the lighting is baked into the environment assets, even a simple Accent Lights On/Off toggle or a Minimal Lighting option would address the main issue.
Tested with Infuse Pro 8.4.8 (5690) on an M5 Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 27 Developer Beta 3.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
