Hi, it will be great to add option for audio to select original audio for movie or tv show. Right now there is option to put default that select every time wrong audio track, in my a lot of cases I have 2 tracks one is example English second is Germany and I want to target every time original audio Germany as that is original movie/tv show language. I hope this will be added in future, thanks
You can currently do this by setting German as your language choice for audio.
The thing is I have situation not just for Germany example for Spain, Korean and more as well. I have in movie or tv show more audio tracks and every time it pick wrong not original track
You may have to start making sure you have the audio tracks correctly ripped with the right designators when you rip your movies and tv shows.
I see for most content if is not default English language they add one more original audio language. So films have max 2 tracks. I love only to listen original not dub audio.
Examples
Film 1:
- English dub
- Germany orginal
Infuse select English
Film 2:
- Korean orginal
- English dub
Infuse select English
Etc…
What do you have set for your audio language in Infuse and what do you have set for your Language in the device Apple settings?
In infuse for audio: auto
For Apple TV settings language: English
Infuse has no way of determining what the “original” language is in videos. You’d have to select it for each one unless you want one “preferred” language.
Again, the best way would be to rip the videos with only the audio track you feel is the original.
I think there is way infuse use plex and also TMDB data, check this film example Exterritorial (2025) — The Movie Database (TMDB) they have info what is original language
If you have that video you can do a media info report on that and see how the audio tracts named. That would be the only way to tell.
Infuse detect two languages for that content without any issues:
Germany - Dolby Atmos
English - E-AC3 5.1
I don’t understand but why infuse can’t check first when is pulling info from TMDB what is original language of that movie to automatically select that audio track on play? I think for a lot people who like to watch original not dub audio will be so much helpful feature. Streaming services put tons of dub languages so it is very hard to find any content with one original audio.
