If I add a new movie to my NAS, then go to Sapphire, Movies, Scan for new files nothing happens. I do hear the normal sound when I select “Scan for new files” as if it works, just doesn’t do anything.

If a new file/movie has been added you will need to re-run the 'Import all Data' option for that file to appear under Sapphires's Movies or TV Shows menus.
