So yes I can search for more subtitles, but then when I come to play the show or movie again I’ve got to search for them again. So what is the logic behind this? Why can’t Infuse simply save subtitles in the same way Emby or Jellyfin does?
Well I guess the answer is ‘because’.
Or your could “guess” that maybe the weekend has come into play on getting an answer? ![]()
I didn’t realize you people had the weekend off ![]()
Are they still drinking margaritas on Cancun beach?
Downloaded subtitles are saved within the Infuse app and will be available when playing the same video again.
If you’re using an Apple TV there could be cases where subtitles are removed if the Apple TV is running low on disk space. In this case, using the Cloud Backup feature would allow these subtitles to be recovered (along with other library info) rather seamlessly.
Thanks for the reply. You say that Infuse will save downloaded subtitles and will remember them on subsequent plays. As my original post said, this is not the case. Yes I’m playing files on Apple TV, but my Apple TV has 70% storage available, and so this is not an issue. Are you sure that what you said is only applicable to iOS iPad iPhone etc? Because what you said Infuse does, with downloaded subtitles it most definitely doesn’t. Edit : also, I should add that I’m using Infuse as an external player on the Omni app for Apple TV. Is it this that means subtitles downloaded will not be saved?
I just checked a movie that I had downloaded subs for a while back on ATV and their still there so it does work on ATV from what I’m seeing.
Okay thanks. I’m not sure what to do here, I don’t know if I could submit a diagnostics for something that doesn’t happen. Also on the same Omni app where I’m using Infuse as an external player, none of my subtitle preferences are saved. EG I can play a file which plays German subtitles by default, and if I turn them off, the next time I play that file the German subtitles are back. So anyway, I don’t even know where to start on how to diagnose the problem
Ah ok. In this case the subtitles would not be saved as these are treated as temporary videos and not scanned into the library.
Okay thanks. So the obvious question is why? These files are saved by Infuse under ‘Recent’ and ‘Continue watching’, and they aren’t ‘temporary’. So why are only the subtitles temporary?
Is it worth asking for the ability to actually save downloaded subtitles on these files? Or are you saying that it’s not possible.
Moving to suggestions. Thanks!
