Why are now all Sample files included as movie oder episode ? Since 8.4 . I don’t know where I can disable this.
8.4 adds the long awaited feature of showing extras.
You can read a bit more on how it works here.
Ok nice but how can I disable it for -sample.mkv files. I don’t need it.
When watching a tv show I got now dozens of entries like:
episode 02 (sample, only a couple of seconds runtime)
episode 02 (actual episode)
episode 03 (sample, only a couple of seconds runtime)
episode 03 (actual episode)
and so on…
Can you share an image showing how you have these files named and organized?
Hm unfortunately I already deleted all my sample files via a shell script. Was just to annoying… ![]()
But normally the folder structure looks like:
For movies:
Moviename/moviename.mkv (main movie)
Moviename/Sample/moviename-sample.mkv (sample file)
Same goes for tv shows:
Tv.Show.S01/Episode.01/Episode.01.mkv (main episode)
Tv.Show.S01/Episode.01/Sample/Episode.01-sample.mkv (sample file)
Sometimes it could be .sample.mkv instead of -sample.mkv at the ending.
@james Any chance that these sample files are again excluded in an upcoming version as it was always the case before 8.4 ? Thanks, would be nice.
Same issue. Please let us ignore the sample files. My library is a mess.
Sample files like this are a commonly used extra type and are part of the documented indexing patterns of Emby, Jellyfin, and Plex. We have designed Infuse in such a way to support these patterns so people aren’t having to reorganize their entire libraries when switching to Infuse.
If you have folders of items you do not want to have Infuse include in the Library there are a few approaches you can use for ignoring these. More info can be found in this guide.
I just don’t understand why you had to change it. It wasn’t a problem before the update. Now it’s a mess. One simple toggle in the settings to put it back to how it was would solve the headache.
