Would you be able to send in one of the problematic video files for us to review here?

My friends and I have been experiencing the same issue since the latest update. Hopefully, it gets fixed soon.

Hi,

Infuse, truncate the some Arabic subtitles to hide the last word. I am not sure what is the cause of this issue but only happened lately on AppleTV latest version.

Any suggestion?

Best Regards,
Thamer

We’re looking into this issue. Thanks.

Thank you.

Hello Infuse Team,

I’m experiencing an issue with Arabic subtitles in Infuse on Apple TV.

When playing a video file (MKV/Web-DL with external or embedded SRT subtitles), the Arabic subtitles appear to be incomplete — some lines are partially displayed, and longer lines get cut off or disappear entirely.

I’ve tested multiple subtitle files from OpenSubtitles and Subscene, saved in UTF-8 encoding, and even adjusted the subtitle size, font weight, background, and encoding settings inside Infuse — the problem persists.

Interestingly, when playing the same file and subtitle using another media player (like VLC or nPlayer), the subtitles appear correctly.

Could this be a rendering issue specific to Arabic or RTL text inside Infuse? I’d really appreciate your support in resolving this, as Infuse is my primary player.

Thanks for your time and amazing work

Hello my friend, yes, unfortunately the issue has been there since 8.1.8 at least. The only workaround I’ve found that usually works is to convert the SRT file to ASS/SSA, and there are many websites that can do that. I hope the Infuse team can fix it in the next version.

It’s solved and worked well when I change the “outline” to “shadowed”

I did it in translation settings

It really worked after I did the same as you, changing the outline to “shadowed” fixed the subtitle issue.

Thank you so much for the tip, I appreciate it!

same issue here, but for Hebrew (also RTL), same fix applies. Using “Bordered”, the last part of each sentence is missing, but after using either “shadowed” or “both”, it works.

do you still need a sample file to reproduced the “bordered” issue?

BTW, issue occurs in AppleTV version and MacOS too.

I’ve encountered an issue with Hebrew subtitles when playing some content on Infuse via Apple TV. Some words or entire sentences in the subtitles randomly disappear, even though the same subtitles display correctly when using other players like Plex. This only seems to happen with Hebrew subtitles.

Could you please advise on possible solutions or let me know if this is a known compatibility issue? I’d appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this.

Thank you,
Ben

Ben, change it from bordered to shadowed or “both” under subtitles.

This should be resolved in today’s 8.2.1 update.

Thanks for your patience.
