I wish the Home Screen could offer tailored recommendations beyond newly added, and top rated. It would be awesome if there was letterboxd integration for watchlist or even some GenAI/Apple Intelligence integration that could look at your library and usage data and recommend additional films in your library you would like.
Just curious, why would you have movies in your library you wouldn’t like?
Hi @griffi31 @NC_Bullseye
I would like to add to this.
On the Home screen there can be a “You may like” row that suggests movies based on the movies you have recently watched, in the last 7 days for example. The mechanism can be movies that somewhat share the same: actors, directors, genres.
On each Movie’s detail screen, can use the same mechanism to suggest “You may also like” movies, but instead of basing on movies you watched in the last 7 days, just focus on this single Movie that is being viewed.
This is useful when you have some spare time but not sure what to watch next. And the suggestions are actually related to what you are interested in of late, instead of the seemingly total randomness of “Picks of the day”.
Don’t forget that you need to click the like button on the first post in this thread to show your support for this suggestion!
If you have a Plex Library, you can use Kometa Wiki (P*ex Meta Manager) and create random lists. I use an integration with Trakt.tv for their recommendations. And then the Trakt scrobbler for playing media on Infuse and the list will get pretty good with “you make like” items.
(Only work for movies)
