Would highly appreciate it if we could have the user scores for metacritic instead of the „critic score“. Usually the metascore consists of just a handful reviews (highly loaded and questionable from what I’ve read through so far) whereas there are often hundreds or thousand of user reviews per movie, representing a much better sample size, smoothing out extreme reviews.
Honestly the metascore for some phenomenal movies is pretty mind boggling to me, just a few(!) examples:
- A Fistful of Dollars (1964): 65 (out of 100) metascore / 8.0 (out of 10) userscore
- Gladiator (2000): 67 metascore / 8.7 userscore
- From Dusk Till Dawn (1996): 48(!) metascore / 7.3 userscore
- Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992): 57 metascore / 7.1 user score
- The Last Samurai (2003): 55 metascore / 8.2 user score
- Tombstone (1993): 50(!) metascore / 7.7 user score
- The Thing (1982): 57(!) metascore / 88 (!) user score
- I could go on and on, it’s just crazy

Often the new metascore sticks out like a sore thumb next to the other ratings we’ve now had for a while. I strongly suggest to switch to the much more appropriate user scores for metacritic.
