We’ve done the ATV Flash installer and want to use an external drive with the ATV. We understand we’re supposed to do the Smart Installer within NitoTV to make this dream come true. But here’s the rub. The IR remote works fine with the ATV, except when we try to navigate to the Smart Installer. We can get to NitoTV, we can get to Settings, we can select Install Software, and that takes us to the Installation Manager.
As soon as we get to the Installation Manager it jumps all the way to the bottom to Update Couch Surfer. Hitting up/down/left/right on the remote has no effect, but hitting Enter takes us to the top to Install Perlian. Hitting the down arrow (trying to get a couple lines down to smart installer) make it jump back to the bottom again.
We’ve been at this for hours now and we’re about ready to drop kick this ATV and this $50 software off a 12 story building! Any reason to hold off on that plan?
