Really basic question....

Extreme newbie query here… and I think I probably already know the answer, but here it is anyway:

Does each “official” Apple TV update write over all the aTV patches requiring their re-installation (assuming ones aTV version still works after the APPLE UPDATE)?

If this does happen, other than the tedium associated with doing it all over again, does it really matter to the aTv (warranty question as I assume one would do a factory restore anyway if taking the aTV in for warranty work.)

I think it is disabled by default so it will not update unless you enable the update.

Yes, installing an official Apple update will wipe out the aTV Flash software. There is an option during the install that allows you to disable the auto update if you would like to have control over if and the Apple TV is updated.
