Ca somebody from fire core provide an update about comparability with Mountain Lion please. our apple tvs were useless for a long time after upgrading last time as the streaming didn’t work. I don’t want to upgrade again if it’s goi g to break this again.

You should be ok to upgrade to Mountain Lion once it’s released. There are a few issues with the aTV Flash installer we’re working to address, but you should have no problems with regard to the actual software running on the Apple TV.
