QWERTZ keyboard layout not being used

Hi,

newly jailbroken atv 2nd Gen and an Apple Wireless keyboard. The problem is that the keyboard has a German QWERTZ layout but the aTV doesn’t recognize this and pretends it has an US QWERTY layout. Very annoying especially as one of my passwords contains a ‘y’. More annoying is that special characters are of course not where they are printed on the keyboard thus I’m always forced to find them…

Is there a way to fix this? Language is set to German but that didn’t fix it… I don’t even know whether this is a jailbreak problem or not since I didn’t have the keyboard paired before to the aTV…

ok, seems to be a firmware issue. Didn’t find it on google right away but eventually found that the aTV uses only the US keyboard layout…

That might be something you could fix :slight_smile:

Almost the same problem here, but with french keyboard layout, which is AZERTY  :frowning:

Unfortunately unless the firecore team comes up with a jailbreak tweak for this, we have to wait for apple to fix this in an upcoming firmware update.
Sometimes I wonder what those apple guys are thinking…
