I recently bought a ATV2 brand new in the box. I’ve jail broken iPads and iPhones before but I’m wanting to put this apple in my vehicle as a media player with a 1TB hard drive I have full of media. What would the best way to turn my ATV2 into a media player from a HD? Thanks!!!

There’s not a way to connect an external HDD to the ATV2…the mini-USB won’t work. Also, if you have no video display, there’s no way to control the ATV2. How were you planning to do this? Wouldn’t it be easier to connect the HDD to a head unit that can take a USB input?
Going to use a HDMI to RCA converter to send it to the head rests. Looks like I won’t be going the Mac route after all.
