I’d like to upgrade to Infuse Pro for a month to try it out. I’m wondering, if I go ahead and do that, and then “cancel” my subscription so that it doesn’t auto-renew, would I still be eligible for any upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale(s)? I’ve heard that Firecore/Infuse sometines offers various sales during BF/CM on an annual subscription but not sure if I’d still be eligible if I try it for a month.
Any info would be super helpful. Thanks so much in advance!
I’ve been using infuse a long time and apart from their introductory pricing almost a decade ago, there hasn’t been any sale pricing (apart from a free year with upgrade). But they do regularly increase the price every year or so, so keep that in mind.
Thanks for taking the time to post. I had heard that they often run a sale on BF/CM where they add extra time on an annual subscription but that lifetime almost never goes on sale.
A lot of people say to stay with annual to be able to see what other apps develop over time (I guess so one can jump ship?) and to continue support for such a great app, which of course is reasonable. Plus they talk about the approx 8 year break-even point. But time does pass and it does eventually break even and then everything after is savings.
I was wondering how often the pricing goes up. I appreciate you sharing. Sounds like we might be looking at another increase before too long. I guess that with every price hike, break even on lifetime comes sooner.
There have been multiple prices increases over the last years but it’d be self defeating for the dev to announce them prior to them occurring.
The biggest thing is that once you start a subscription you’ve locked in that price for as long as you keep it paid.
I guess you have to ask yourself if the annual or lifetime subscription is worth the benefit of a great video player with a ton of features and locking in the price.
There’s no real crystal ball regarding pricing, only a rear view mirror.
Buy as soon as you can if you want it - as it has already been pointed out, the price will only go up, and there hasn’t ever been a Black Friday sale.
I kept accumulating free $5 itunes cards but every time I got close to the lifetime price it went up. I finally just used an amazon 40% off offer to buy the last bit I needed a few years ago.
There has only been a $5 increase on Lifetime since 2023, so I imagine another is due soon - it will bump the total from double digits to triple digits which could be a mental barrier to potential buyers (that may have contributed to keeping it below the $100 threshold for now).
Part of the reason I delayed buying Lifetime was because I was waiting for proper double framerate playback of interlaced material… but it never happened during the years I waited to buy nor the years since. But if it ever gets added I’ll finally be able to use infuse all the time!
