Question about Infuse's handling of the metadata read from TMDB

If I were to pull down the metadata from TMDB for the movie titles in my collection, and add whatever xml/json/md/jpg files exist as part of that metadata to my file folders where I store my movies and shows, can I…

…extend that metadata, defining additional seasons of a show (e.g. TMDB does not yet include a season “0” for the special features included in Wandavision, and even though I’ve asked them to unlock it so that I can add it, they have yet to do so, so I’d simply like to define season 0 myself, locally)?

…fix the metadata for my own needs, defining the episode order for the show (e.g. Firefly, for obvious reasons)?

…define images/artwork for a collection, much like TMDB collections can have artwork associated with them?

…customize collections that exist in TMDB the way that I see fit (for me, “Grease Live!” belongs in the Grease collection, but per the TMDB “rules” a collection can only contain actual sequels that are part of that collection)?

Or, alternatively, are there ways for me to use files in my folders where I store my titles to…

…define additional genres for a title, without redefining the entire metadata for the title?

I don’t think any of these are possible. Having participated in this community for a while, if the Infuse dev (team? Is there more than one dev?) would unlock some of the handling of the metadata to allow for more user customization, that would go a long way to allowing the community to resolve many of their own issues. Having TMDB as a starting point is great, but TMDB does quite a few things differently than users would like if they were organizing it themselves, so why limit users to what TMDB defines, and instead allow them to use it as a foundation to build upon and customize?

Also, last question/request related to this: I really dislike the collection view in Infuse. Showing all movies in a row in the collection order vs. showing them as tiles that I can browse through like I can when viewing a folder, given the choice, I would greatly prefer viewing them as tiles that are listed alphabetically that I can browse through like a folder, but below the nice collection artwork at the top. I’d drop the controls to play the selected collection item as well, and instead make me click through to the title to then play it from that view. Is any of that possible? I.e. Navigation of and playback controls for collection items like a folder or genre, but with the nice default artwork for the collection from TMDB or customizable artwork that I can add myself.

One more comment related to this: recently dvdcompare.net went down due to a botched upgrade, and it was down for weeks. You never know how dependent you are on a service until it’s suddenly unavailable. This makes me want to pull the data that I use offline so that I can enjoy the rich experience provided by Infuse even if the external services that house the data it uses become unavailable. That, plus being able to make that data my own so that it suits my needs make me want Infuse to be able to work with locally hosted data files instead of external online services. Then as I purchase more movies and shows, I can simply pull down the data files I need. Or, I can host them in GitHub, so that other community members can leverage the work I do if they like.
