I want to add custom artwork to a movie, but Infuse doesn’t seem to override the TMDB artwork automatically. If I choose to use original metadata, the artwork shows up, but the movie metadata is lost.
It’s not possible to use custom artwork while still keeping the movie metadata from TMDB? Maybe I’m overlooking something, but this is quite confusing.
When you put in the new custom artwork you’ll need to do an “Edit Metadata” and select the correct choice again. That should refresh the artwork to your new graphic you added.

Which is the correct option, ‘embedded metadata’ (not the TMDB listing)? If I select embedded metadata, the custom artwork is displayed, but the movie metadata (title, cast, etc.) is lost.
I was under the impression that you could override the TMDB artwork while still keeping the TMDB movie metadata, without having to create an XML or NFO file?
Thanks a lot for your help.
That confuses a lot of users, embedded is actually internal to the video file which most people don’t use. For custom artwork you place graphic files along side your video file with the correct name per the above link.
Usually the best thing is to turn OFF “Prefer embedded artwork” and turn ON “Prefer Local Artwork” and this will use artwork like you have shown and fetch the rest of the metadata from TMDB as long as you have Metadata Fetching turned on.

Ah, that was the issue! “Prefer local artwork” was disabled. The custom artwork now loads correctly with the metadata.
Thanks for the clarification. Glad it’s working now!
