Problems Jailbreaking atv2 5.0.2 (4250) with Itunes 10.7

Hi,

I’m trying to jailbreak my atv2 running 5.0.2 (4250) with seas0npass. I run Seas0npass and it downloads the latest file AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw, and itunes opens and then prompts me which file to select to start the process of restoring atv2. I go into documents/tether and select the above mentioned file. After this the restoration process finishes, but when I re-connect the apple tv to the powercord and HDMI it is NOT jailbroken? Any ideas of what I’m doing wrong? I’m using Itunes 10.7. Could that be an issue? Earlier I downgraded my atv2 from 5.1 to 5.0.2 in order for me to jb it. I’m doing all this on a Macbook Air running mountain Lion

It sounds as if you may be restoring the wrong file!   The jailbroken version created by SeasonPass will have _SP as part of the filename - it does not sound as if this is the file you used for restoring?   If you simply restored the file that was downloaded at the start of the jailbreaking process this would explain your symptoms.

Itunes prompts me for the location of the file I want to use for the restoration process, can you tell me where seasonpass would save the _SP file?

What OS are you using as that can affect the location.

You might be able tp find it by searching for _SP.

I’m currently running mountain lion 10.8.2

I can’t find anything when using spotlight to search for _SP

Check Library > Application Support > Seas0nPass > Firmware

Not sure if that will solve your problem 100% though, Im having the same issue as you, I use Seas0nPass and it says successful and yet it’s not Jailbroken.  Maybe it’s 10.7?

I just did a full jailbreak by 1st downgrading to 5.0.2 and then the season0pass. Now that I did it, not sure I needed to do the downgrade.  Do a file manager search for “ipsw”. There should be 2 files there.  The one you want is the one with the latest date.  It does not have _SP as a part of its file name.
