Problems connecting to AFP when it contains a . (dot) in the name.

I have no trouble connecting to my AirPort Time Capsule’s HDD when it’s not named with a . (dot) in the name.

But when using a name such as Dr. H, I fail to connect to the HDD.

I’ve tried to use the address Dr.-H.local and Dr.-H.local, but without any luck.

 

Any idea on what I should use as address?

Not typing the dot or trying to escape the dot fixes the issue. So the address just becomes Dr-H.
