Im new to Infuse and TVoS, my last Apple TV was the 1080p 3rd gen model.
So, Ive decided to get the newest 4K 3rd gen Apple TV and install Infuse which is highly recommended for viewing media. I have subscribed to the Pro version and im now on the month’s trial.
My experience is only around Android TV boxes where I have installed Stremio and watching media is a breeze. Lately though, this Android box is getting bloated and really sluggish, hence why I bought an Apple TV.
My problem is, when im watching a movie with Infuse and I want lets say 10 minutes into the movie to stop it and go back to Infuse home screen , I press the “back” button on the Siri Remote. Then my TV screen is going black and I can’t get out of it, unless I reboot the TV itself. I can hear in the background the Infuse is still there-I can hear the clicking noises of the app- but the screen is black.
Can someone tell me what im doing wrong? Apple TV is connected directly to TV via HDMI. My TV is a TCL 65C645.
this sounds like an issue with either your TV or the appletv itself, and not an infuse issue.
i’d bet that your TV isn’t very good at switching framerates, which results in a black screen.
I disabled match frame rate and Infuse behaves normally now! It’s very strange as my TV supports natively frame rate matching tested with the Stremio app which has this option.
I’ve watched a movie last night with frame rate off and I couldn’t tell the difference between on or off🤔
I would like to mention that my TV is capable of switching frame rates, tested with the Stremio app on an external Android Box. Stremio has this option on its settings and with it on, I have no problems with either flickering or black screens.
maybe so, but by turning off “match framerate” you’ve seen that the problem goes away, this tells you the problem is being caused by your TV not succesfully switching back, resulting in the black screen.
