Poor series loading times with Jellyfin 10.11

Docker image jellyfin/jellyfin:10.11.0-rc8
InfuseSync 1.5.2.0
Infuse macOS 8.2.6

When adding this share in Library mode the initial “Fetching content” stage is far slower than Jellyfin 10.10.7/InfuseSync 1.5.1.0.

Fetching a library of ~15000 titles took ~8 minutes under Jellyfin 10.11.0-RC8
Fetching the same library under 10.10.7 took ~1 minute

After updating Jellyfin to 10.11.0, the loading times when opening a series increased significantly, especially with series with many seasons and many episodes.
I suspect that something has changed in how the server responds to requests and that Infuse is now requesting information for all episodes and only opens once it has received information for the entire series, including episodes from all seasons. When opening a series, it takes up to 20 seconds, but once it loads, when you open another season, it loads immediately.
I don’t think it’s my Jellyfin server because if I open the same series from the official Jellyfin clients, it loads immediately.

This happens with iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. I am using Infuse Pro 8.3.

Are you using Library Mode or Direct Mode to connect?

If using Library Mode, do you have the latest version (1.5.2) of the InfuseSync plugin installed?

Also, if you’re able to send in a quick report from your device (and post the code here) it may provide more insight as to what is going on here.

I am using direct mode.
Diagnostic: ZRGFW
If you want, I can record the screen, but basically, the more episodes the series has, the longer it takes to display the episode information, with some cases taking more than 20 seconds. And it doesn’t happen with movies

I am having the same issue in direct mode with 10.11. Sometimes it will finish the sync after about 10 minutes and sometimes it will just fail.

Same here. Direct mode, latest version of everything. TV series completely unusable (loading the info page for one episode can easily take 20s).

same issue on macos as well as ios after the new jellyfin update

I’m seeing the same behavior in Direct Mode with Jellyfin 10.11. Loading time increases clearly with the number of seasons and episodes. It’s disruptive and makes Infuse frustrating to use. Other players don’t show this issue.

I’m seeing this lag with Jellyfin in direct mode too. Definitely seems related to the Jellyfin update.

This is not an indictment on Infuse (could be Jellyfin’s “fault”), but that’s the only client that shows this problem, at least for me. I have all the Jellyfin clients in existence.

Don’t forget the above request…

Don’t forget to post the code here in this thread.

My diagnostic logs code is:

SYMWM

Diagnostic Code YX4VD

Have retested this in the stable 10.11 release and confirmed that performance is still very poor.

Same in tvOS (JF 10.11, InfuseSync 1.5.2)

Retested with Jellyfin 10.11.1 (released today) and Infuse 8.3.0. Poor performance occurs with or without InfuseSync plugin installed.

Just ran it with the latest updated 10.11.1 Jellyfin update they released. Same issue

Besides the loading time, the other issue this causes is the Jellyfin database locks while Infuse is doing the long sync which causes issues for others using the server at the same time. For the time being I have to have users not use Infuse due to it locking things up for everyone while it syncs. Not sure if this helps in researching the issue, but thought another data point may help.

Ew that’s atrocious database design on Jellyfin’s part.
