Plex Watchlist file not found

Hi, I updated to v8 and on all my devices I have a banner on the top that says “File not found” and suggests to refresh my Plex library.

I have refreshed all my Plex libraries but I keep having this problem.

I have this issue, or at least similar. I use Kometa to create seasonal collections. Once Kometa deletes the playlist out of Plex, Infuse has the same message. Only a removal of share and adding it back fixes the problem.

This feels like a cache issue.

I’m surprised nobody else’s has this issue.

Example. This is for the watchlist, but it also does it for the Halloween playlist that starts in October and ends after - once Plex removes the playlist, Infuse has a similar message.

My subscription is up for renewal and I can’t find any support for this. Very disheartening.

Has nobody found that deleting collections in Plex has meant Infuse shows the collection as ‘File Not Found’?

Thanks.

Do you have any items present in your Plex Watchlist?

Do any of the items in the Watchlist have edition tags added to them? There is a bug in Plex’s handling of these tags with regard to the Watchlist that can prevent them from being listed.

For me, the collection is one created for a month then deleted. The collection shows up when created but once deleted in Plex does not delete from Infuse, insted showing ‘File Not Found’.

Watchlist was an example - there are no files in mine right now.

I had a Thanks Giving collection that was only present for November. Now it’s December and Plex has deleted it but Infuse still shows it as ‘File Not Found’.

So if the list was removed from Plex then I guess it would be expected you would see an error in Infuse when it tries to load details for that list. In this case you probably want to remove the list from the Infuse home screen.

With regard to the Watchlist, I can replicate this issue if I add something from Plex’s streaming service to the Watchlist (and have no other items present in the Watchlist). For me, if the Watchlist is completely empty then the list itself is hidden from the Infuse Home Screen without any visible error.

Why doesn’t Infuse delete the collection?

If this is expected and default, does that not rule out dynamically created collections due to the ‘File Not Found’ errors it leaves behind?

Well Infuse doesn’t really know if the list was removed from Plex intentionally or if it was an accident.

I can see there being use cases on both sides, but if you are frequently adding lists to the Infuse Home Screen then I guess it wouldn’t be too crazy to remove the old lists from time to time?

We could potentially look at adjusting the behavior to avoid displaying this error and simply hide the list if it’s not found, but removing lists from Infuse you no longer would still probably be the best option.

I use Kometa to dynamically create lists based on events (Thanks Giving, Christmas, Halloween etc) and it looks rubbish in Infuse when they get deleted. I then have to do a manual clean up. Manually doing that defeats the purpose of the dynamically created lists and removes the magic of it.

I don’t recall this being an issue with v7 Infuse?

It would be awesome if adjusting the error was considered - at least I know it’s expected behaviour currently.

This is helpful to know. Thanks.

For now, we may look at simply hiding these missing/deleted lists so it doesn’t detract from the experience.
