New beta today 8.3.6 (5485) that includes more things for Plex Home users.
- Added a “Switch User” option to the Plex share context menu
- Added PIN code support for Plex Home users
@james my assumption had been that a “prompt” would appear at the launch of infuse to sign into a home user’s profile?
Now, to be clear, the work you have done is excellent, and would be awesome when paired with individual Apple accounts. I had assumed I wouldnt have had to use Apple accounts as well.

You’ll be prompted to select a user when adding the share. If you want to switch users after a share has been added you can long-press on icon for the Plex server in Infuse and choose the Switch User option.
Infuse supports connecting to multiple servers at once and some users have 5-10 servers (or more) connected, so it isn’t really practical to show multiple prompts for Plex users when launching Infuse. However, you can tie a Plex user (or multiple Plex users on different servers) to a specific Apple TV profile and this would allow you to easily switch between multiple users at once.
For example, your personal Apple TV profile might be connected to user A on server 1, and user A on server 2. A second Apple TV profile could be connected to user B on server 1 and not connected to server 2 at all. Using the Apple TV profile switching feature you would be able to have each profile set up to access the correct Plex profiles without having to switch manually within Infuse.
For some reason I’m not getting a prompt to switch user when long pressing on my Plex server?
I assume it’s in the listing of shares that I do it?
I was able to get this to launch. A little out of the way but overall works great. A quick reference in a blog post will be needed to show this in action but overall MUCH better than having to use the standard Plex app.
My problem was that because I had libraries favorited, the Plex server icon doesn’t show up.
Have to unfavorite them all to get it back.

It depends on your needs, but that is the approach I would use. The Apple TV can be set up with a user selection prompt which appears each time it wakes from sleep.
Also, tvOS 26.2 now supports creating profiles without having to create/link an Apple ID. This would be very useful for kids who may not have an Apple ID.
Can someone explain me as it looks like it is not quite simple when it should be…
I have 2 people using apple TV, my wife and myself, there is only 1 apple account on it(mine) but we would like to use two PLEX profiles, will the change allow us to change plex profiles under single apple account, OR there will be a link between apple profile and plex profile so everytime we change we will have to change a user on the apple tv? Can someone make it simple for me?
Plex Home users are now supported in today’s 8.3.6 update! 
Note: The Plex Home user can be selected when first adding a connection to Plex. It’s also possible to switch between users on-the-fly by long-pressing on the Plex server icon found in the Files menu (or on the Home Screen on Apple TV).
I posted a comment on the beta RC thread but didn’t get a response. Seems that switching Plex users wipes out favorites?
There are some limitations related to how Plex handles profiles that can affect retention of home screen customizations in Infuse for Plex Home users, but we have a few ideas for improving things here.
If you are able to use the native Apple TV profile switching feature (pinning each Plex profile to an Apple TV profile) you can retain any and all customizations.
Note: The recent tvOS 26.2 update removes the requirement for each Apple TV profile to have a linked iCloud ID which makes using these profiles a lot more flexible.
Thanks…yeah I’m aware of that function but there are times I just want to switch over to my Admin account since I have a lot of libraries that aren’t normally shared under the normal home user we use for watching. Don’t really want to setup an Apple TV profile just for that though.
Not sure if the loss of customization is documented with the Plex Home “switch user” changes, but might want to be called out

I’m using Infuse with Plex Home users on Apple TV, and I noticed a small but slightly confusing behavior.
I have multiple tvOS user profiles, and for each Apple TV profile I select a different Plex Home user inside Infuse. Inside the app everything works as expected.
However, on the Apple TV home screen (Top Shelf / Continue Watching), Infuse seems to always show the main Apple TV profile’s Continue Watching items, even when a secondary profile is active.
Not a huge issue, just wanted to mention it — I’m not sure if this is a tvOS Top Shelf limitation or something Infuse could handle per user.

As I have plex connected already how am I supposed to link plex profile with infuse? Do I have to remove it and set up again?
Unfortunately, this is related to a tvOS system bug which we have reported to Apple. We’re hopeful they are able to get things fixed up in one of the next tvOS updates.
If Plex is already connected, you can long-press on the Plex server icon in Infuse in the Files menu (or the purple icon on the Home Screen on Apple TV). Please note, switching between Plex Home users is only available when Library Mode is disabled.
