Plex Home users support

Just another nod for this. Would love to use Infuse full time/recommend but at the moment flitting between the two.

But with the New Plex Experience I think this is a good opportunity unless there is a technical limitation (like it’s just not possible?)

Don’t forget that you need to click the like button on the first post in this thread to show your support for this suggestion!

I did I did! I’m just also boosting the thread so other people do too

Sorry but not in this thread.

You did in the multi user thread but not in this one specifically for Plex User support. The other thread is asking for multi user support in general, not specific to Plex.

Many of us don’t use Plex.

I’d love to see an optional Direct Mode for user prrofiles, similar to how Direct Mode works for libraries.

I’m really excited about Plex home users being supported in infuse.

Can I request when this is implemented to be able to lock home user changes to the initial set up? - or pin protect any account switches?

With infuse being separate instance for my child’s Apple TV profile, I’d like him to not be able to swap home users to bypass any content restrictions in place, especially considering I’ll get a different view on my TV profile.

Same same. Except now it’s been 7.5 years!

This is a long thread. Can anyone confirm these two things are true:

  1. Infuse can switch between regular Plex accounts using the newish Infuse user profiles, and thereby access different watch histories and libraries on a Plex Media Server.
  2. Infuse still does not support Plex Home ‘managed accounts’ (local user profiles on a Plex Server).

Supporting Plex Home managed accounts has become more important since it can be remotely accessed with Plex Watch Pass $2/month, while switching regular Plex accounts needs a full Plex Pass at $7/month. As far as I understand it.

This suggestion is still tagged as “in progress” so Infuse doesn’t support Plex home users.

But it’s not far off.

Bullseye, you made me so happy! Thanks for the heads up on the upcoming Infuse release!

I’m really looking forward to this feature, but it occurred to me yesterday that it might not be what I’m hoping for. Will it allow a second iCloud user to sign in with their Plex Home account, or—what I think everyone truly wants—let us switch users directly within the app?

Oops, look like we got bumped out of 8.3.3 and 8.3.4 and now we’re waiting for 8.3.x. Patience is a virtue, I always say! :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Yep, I’d love to hear what’s being planned/implemented, too!

It seems this feature keeps getting bumped, what is the hold up?

This is in progress, but turned out to be a bit more involved than we originally anticipated and wasn’t going to be ready in time for the 8.3.3 update (which was released today).

Work will continue and this will be available as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

Great news! Really looking forward to this feature! Thanks for the update!

We are so exited, how it will be works? with appleid switch or within the app? (I hope within the app)

Today, we have a beta of Infuse 8.3.6 (5473) with initial support for Plex Home users. :tada:

NOTE: In this build, the Plex Home user is selected once when adding the Plex share. Support for user switching and PIN codes is still in progress.

If you are interested in testing this version you can use this link to join TestFlight.

Note: If you are already part of the Infuse beta you do not need to use this link, as the beta is already available to you.
