Playlist and Favourites Sync

Hello! I use infuse on multiple devices and I’m wondering if it’s possible to customise on each device what it syncs and what it doesn’t?

infuse on macOS is of course the main hub to manage, organise, and make sure all media, metadata playlists and watchlists are in order, and tvOS is where I consume media most of the time. these two devices of course shall have full sync.

but I also have infuse on an iPhone and an iPad dedicated for consuming some media for when I’m on the go or just need a pick me up in bed before sleeping. and I realised I don’t need to have everything in these smaller devices as well - movies in 4K, these nature documentaries that I prefer to watch on the TV and stuff like sitcoms, game shows, anime i’m fine watching on the iPad

so I was wondering if it’s possible to customise the content each device scans and displays? has anyone experienced just unchecking file sources in one device without it affecting their other devices? same thing with pinned collections and entries on the homescreen, can I also curate what I have on thete per device or is the sync on iCloud universal to all devices under one infuse account?

There is not a way to granular adjust which items are synced on which devices, but with regard to which favorites are included in the library those selections will sync between like devices.

EG

  • Selections on Apple TV will sync to other Apple TVs
  • Selections on Mac will sync to other Macs
  • Etc…

This will only affect what is visible in the Library on each device, and other files can always be access directly when browsing directly via Files if/when needed.

I see. Does the similar devices thing apply to the pinned items on home as well?

I’m trying to investigate this and I noticed that mostly recent changes I make there from macOS have not been syncing consistently with tvOS and iOS.

I mean I think they are supposed to given that my old pins from two years ago are all there but the recent pins I added that may be from iOS or iPadOS, i seem to have to add manually on the other devices. That’s why I wondered if custom homescreens are possible per device now.
