Greetings. I just installed aTV Flash on my aTV2. Everything went smoothly on the install, from jailbreaking 5.0 to tethered boot to aTV Flash installation and config.
I was able to use the Media player to access (via AFP) files stored on my MacBook Pro’s internal HD. (The MBP is running OSX Lion.) However, all of my movies are on an external 1.5TB Western Digital MyBook. The MyBook is mounted on the MBP, and I even added a share for it, but it still doesn’t show up in Media’s volumes list (top level) for my computer. (A mounted CD-ROM and two mounted DMGs do show up, however.)
Can anyone advise as to why the HD doesn’t show up? Could the FAT32 formatting have something to do with it? If so, what are my options? I tried turning on SMB sharing but the computer didn’t show up in the discovered list and I wasn’t clear on how to manually configure Media as an SMB client.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
The same problem with me! See my post… No solution so far… Good thing i can use PLEX to stream my mkv’s but have to update plex media server every time i download a new movie, also the iMAC must be on and working! My external drive is NTFS formatted…
I have a feeling that the disk needs to be formatted in AFP format to be visible. However since I do not have a Mac of my own, that is just what I have gathered from forum messages so I could be wrong.
