Playback Speed

Kudos for Update 6.3!

It would be nice if you could integrate the playback speed directly in the player UI, so I don’t have to go trough the menu (gear icon) first.
It would be even better if you could add a gesture to change speed. Maybe give an option to change gestures in the settings (I don’t need the brightness gesture for example)

I use Infuse to watch dance lessons where I often need to rewind some parts. It’s already pretty handy with the forward/backward scrubbing and the now added playback speed. The above mentioned suggestions would make my user experience superior

Sweet Grandmother’s Spatula, it’s actually here! Bought the newest version!

That’s a good point, being able to change the playback speed without going into options would be even better. I’m not going to complain because I’m super thrilled to actually have this feature, but yeah that would be pretty great.

Please add a new suggestion for this so that it can get new traction. Otherwise it might get lost in this thread.

You are able to slow the playback down in increments of 0.05, so it can get to 0.95. Have you tried it to see if that works?

It would be great to have an option to adjust playback speed. I often watch shows in VLC at 1.25-1.5x to get through them faster. I would recommend having a setting that could be adjusted while watching an episode. A gesture to adjust would be nice but not necessary.

This would be a killer feature - I use it all the time on another player but that player does not support AC3/DTS. Any plans to offer it on Infuse Pro?

I would be really glad it if this were added. This is pretty much the only thing that is holding me back from taking the plunge and adopting Infuse as my main media player.

I tried to use infuse, but the Playback Speed is a required feature for me. So I’m going back to AV Player.

Based on this thread date, look like firecore isn’t interested to listen their users.

Check out the feature request page. This is planned

Thanks for the great application. I fell in love with it at the first glance.

The only problem I have is the lack of option to control the video play speed. I usually watch open course videos on the iPad with 1.5x speed. It just saves me a lot of time to finish a course. It would be perfect if there can be an option to control the video speed in Infuse!

Thanks!

I propose two suggestions.

Sugest 1 - Have the possibility to change the speed of a vidéo (like VLC) because I use Infuse to learn english (Yes I know I still have a lot of work). I look some series with sustitle and that's more easy to read the video slower.

Sugest 2 - To have the possibly to refresh Infuse because if you change the name of a file Infuse can't see it. I use a NAS server and when I add a movie or change the name of a movie Infuse can't see that immediately. I have to wait several hours. It's intolerable.

Regards

I love watching videos sped up depending on how “filler” the content is, and for a long time I would watch videos sped up using VLC, but once I switched to Infuse I didn’t have the option so I got out of the habit. Recently I remembered how much I enjoyed watching movies, TV shows, anime, etc. at faster speeds, and I want to get back into the habit. I know on the “in development” features variable playback speeds are listed, so I know that they are aware and are working on it, but outside of a few articles online I haven’t heard much from people that watch movies and TV shows faster. Do you guys do this? What apps do you use to do so? I reinstalled VLC to try it again, but even on my iPad Pro 10.5 inch, when a 600MB episode of the Colbert Late Show is sped up beyond 1.2x, the audio doesn’t work. I’m not sure if the process of speeding up videos takes more power than my iPad has, or if VLC just has less efficient programming.
