I have some blu-ray movies containing a BDMV folder stored on a 115 cloud drive. I made .strm files pointing to the .m2ts files, and downloaded the rest of the files and kept the folder structure and file integrity intact. I share these files to infuse using webdav, infuse recognizes the movies and matches the posters, but when I play the movies, infuse immediately reports an error.
BDMV files have complex linking structures so unfortunately replacing an m2ts file with a strm file of the same name is likely not going to work.
However, if the linked m2ts file contains the complete video then this could be probably be used on its own. You can try naming this to ‘Argo (2012).strm’ and playing it directly in Infuse.
Are you referring to direct playback of the main .m2ts files as if they were .mkv? I’ll give it a try.
Unfortunately some of the scripts that generate .strm files don’t work anymore, and also this naming scheme loses the convenience of the blu-ray index structure if it contains multiple .m2ts files or extras.
The reason I generate .strm files that point to .m2ts and download other files is to solve the problem of long loading times when playing blu-ray movies from cloud drives. In this way, infuse can read .bdmv, .mpls, and .clpi files directly from the local area when playing blu-ray movies, instead of getting them from the cloud drive, which can greatly reduce the loading time when playing. Unfortunately, I didn’t anticipate that .strm files wouldn’t work in blu-ray.
Yes, you can either use the main m2ts file locally or link to it using a strm file. Playing this on its own (without having it inside the BDMV structure) should work.
