If I playback some content on my apple tv 4k gen 2 (2021?)
The swipe down menu is awfully slow. it’s like 3 seconds delay.
I then tried turn off Match Frame Rate in apple tv settings and everything is silky smooth.
Should it be on or off for infuse?
Just found out it’s because the whole UI gets lowered to the contents frames so a 4k movie probably has 24fps and that’s what the app has to work with.
Depending on the content being played, the Apple TV video output may switch to 24fps (to match the video). In this case, the menu animations would also be limited to 24fps which will feel quite a bit less smooth than normal menu/app browsing which is 60fps.
You can certainly disable the Match Frame Rate option to keep video output at 60fps which will allow for smoother menu animations, but this could potentially lead to less-than-ideal of 24fps video content as there will be 3:2 pulldown present.
