Playback Issues When Streaming from Feiniu OS / FNOS Library

Hi Infuse team,

I would like to report a serious bug when connecting Infuse to Feiniu OS / FNOS as a media library source.

When I try to stream TV episodes from Feiniu OS, the playback often works normally for a certain period of time, for example during the first half of an episode. However, later in the episode, or when I seek/fast-forward to a later timestamp, Infuse may fail to load the media correctly.

Issue 1: Playback stops loading and is incorrectly treated as finished

The typical behavior is:

  1. I open a TV episode and resume playback from a certain timestamp.
  2. Infuse loads and plays a short segment normally.
  3. During this time, the playback statistics show that both network throughput and streaming speed values are changing, and playback works as expected.
  4. After a very short segment, Infuse stops loading the video.
  5. The episode is then incorrectly recognized as finished.
  6. Depending on my playback preference, Infuse either jumps to the next episode or exits playback.

When this happens, the playback statistics show that both the network throughput and streaming speed values become frozen and no longer change.

Issue 2: Incorrect playback progress / timestamp recognition

There also seems to be an issue with playback time recognition when Feiniu OS is used as the media library source.

For example, a movie or episode may already be halfway watched, but the watch history or progress record may show the playback time as 00:00:00 or 00:00:01.

This suggests that Infuse may not be correctly reading or saving playback progress when connected to Feiniu OS.

Issue 3: Watched status does not sync correctly

Another issue is that when I manually mark an episode as watched in Infuse, the watched status does not seem to sync correctly with Feiniu OS.

After I exit Infuse and open it again, the same episode is still shown as unwatched.

Additional troubleshooting

I have tried connecting the same Feiniu OS media library to other media players in order to rule out other possible causes.

When using other players, the same content plays normally. Therefore, this does not appear to be an issue with my local network, hardware, or Feiniu OS itself.

Impact

Overall, when connected to Feiniu OS, Infuse is almost unable to reliably complete playback of a TV episode or movie. This makes the issue very serious and significantly affects normal usage.

I have uploaded diagnostic information with the following codes:

AXKZ9
DS87C

Please help investigate this issue. Thank you.

I would like to bump this thread because this is a very serious issue.

At the moment, when using Feiniu OS / FNOS as the media source in Infuse, it is almost completely unusable for normal playback. In my case, Infuse cannot reliably play through a single TV episode from beginning to end.

The episode may start playing normally, but after a certain point, or after seeking to a later timestamp, playback stops loading and Infuse may incorrectly treat the episode as finished. This means I am currently unable to watch even one complete episode normally when connected to Feiniu OS.

This is not a minor playback glitch. It effectively makes Feiniu OS unusable as a media library source in Infuse.

I would really appreciate it if the Infuse team could investigate this as a high-priority bug.

I can also provide further assistance if needed.

In addition to the diagnostic logs I have already uploaded, I am happy to help with any additional reproduction steps, testing, screen recordings, sample scenarios, or other information that may be useful for investigating this issue.

Please let me know what would be most helpful, and I can provide it at any time.

Are you seeing this issue with all files or just certain types?

If you are able to send in one of the problematic files it may help us identify what may be going on.

Thank you for your reply.

This issue appears to happen with all content, not just certain file types. When using Feiniu OS as the media source, Infuse is almost unusable because it cannot reliably play a complete TV episode from beginning to end.

To help reproduce the issue, here are the steps to reproduce it from scratch:

Steps to reproduce

  1. Prepare a Feiniu OS environment.

  2. Open the File Manager app (文件管理) in Feiniu OS.

  3. Go to the Remote Mount tab (远程挂载).

  4. Click Mount Cloud Drive (挂载网盘) and select 123 Cloud Drive (123网盘).

  5. Connect your own 123 Cloud Drive account.

For reference, here is a sample problematic file. You should be able to save it to your own 123 Cloud Drive easily:

    https://1812063216.share.123pan.cn/123pan/hY4rVv-7nKKv

  6. After the 123 Cloud Drive folder has been mounted, go to System Settings (系统设置).

  7. Open the last tab, Applications (应用).

  8. Select Movies & TV (影视).

  9. In the Allow access to the following folders list (允许访问以下文件夹), add the 123 Cloud Drive folder that was just mounted.

At this point, the 123 Cloud Drive has been connected to Feiniu OS.

  1. Then connect Feiniu OS to Infuse by following the official Feiniu OS guide here:
  1. After the connection is successful, try playing the sample file provided above in Infuse.

Expected result

Infuse should be able to play the episode normally and continuously until the end.

Actual result

To save time, you can directly seek/fast-forward to the second half of an episode and continue playback from there.

In most cases, almost 100% in my testing, the issue will occur:

  1. The episode starts playing normally.

  2. In the playback statistics HUD, both the network speed and streaming speed keep updating normally for a few minutes.

  3. After that, both values stop changing and become frozen.

  4. The bug is then reproduced.

  5. Infuse incorrectly treats the current episode as finished and either jumps to the next episode or exits playback, depending on the playback preference settings in Infuse.

This behavior makes it almost impossible to watch any full single episode normally when using Feiniu OS as the media source.

I would like to add one more detail about the reproduction method.

This issue seems to occur mainly when the video reaches the second half of the file. Therefore, the most accurate way to reproduce it is to seek/fast-forward to the second half of the video, at least after the 1/2 point, and then try seeking several more times if necessary.

After that, stop seeking and continue normal playback. The bug should then be triggered.

What I can confirm is that this bug prevents any video from being watched until the end. Also, after the bug occurs, if I reopen the same video and resume from the position where the bug happened, playback will usually be interrupted again very soon because of the same issue.

Are you able to replicate this issue with local files on the Feiniu server that are not streamed from 123 Cloud Drive?

I tested streaming local files stored directly on the Feiniu server, and playback seems to work fine in that case.

However, I think connecting 123 Cloud Drive to Feiniu OS for playback is one of the main usage scenarios, because cloud storage has much larger capacity, while it is difficult to build a large media library using only local hard drives.

I also tested the same playback path with other media players:

123 Cloud Drive -> Feiniu OS -> media player

With other players, playback works well using this path.

Therefore, the issue may be related to how Infuse handles this specific scenario. Could you please help investigate this? Thank you.

Please, I sincerely hope the team can prioritize and fix this issue.

This is a very serious bug because it makes media playback through Feiniu OS almost completely unusable when 123 Cloud Drive is mounted as the media source.

At the moment, the video may appear to play normally in the first half, but once it reaches the second half, or after seeking/fast-forwarding to a later part of the file, playback often stops loading. Infuse then incorrectly treats the current video as finished and either jumps to the next episode or exits playback.

This is not just an occasional buffering or playback glitch. In practice, it means that users are almost unable to watch a complete TV episode or movie from beginning to end.

For users who rely on 123 Cloud Drive as their main media library source, this bug makes the entire 123 Cloud Drive -> Feiniu OS -> Infuse workflow effectively unusable.

I really hope the Feiniu OS team can take this issue seriously and investigate the remote mount, file streaming, Range request handling, playback progress recognition, and compatibility with Infuse.

Please help fix this issue. It is a severe bug that directly affects the usability of Feiniu OS as a media library solution. Thank you.
