PGS subtiles in HDR

I don’t know if this behaviour has already been reported: PGS subtitles in HDR sometimes look quite dark. Strangely this doesn’t affect all movies, in some it looks fine.
I’ve tested the same file with Infuse and MrMC (see screenshots). Note that the camera makes it brighter in both cases, but you should see there’s a difference. For movies without the “bug”, subtitles look exactly the same in Infuse and MrMC.

Anyone seeing this too?

This is a known quirk, for now.

The fix is currently being held back by a bug Apple introduced in 11.3. A bit more info on this can be found here.

Calibration HDR (Masciola) is not working

Quick update. We had a fix for this ready to roll out in February, but it had nasty side effects in 11.3 as unfortunately Apple introduced a number of bugs related to HDR that were not present in the 11.2.x versions. We have reported these issues to Apple, and are hoping they get them fixed. We’re giving them the benefit of the doubt, as it seems they had a fixed timeline to wrap-up and release 11.3 so it would sync up with their iPad event, and these issues may not have been a priority.
