I’m noticing issues with videos that have Dolby Atmos. When skipping forward/back (10 seconds) the player will either take a very long time to resume play, and sometimes will pause the playback (paused while still showing the Atmos indicator in top right on my TV). Hitting enter button on remote will start playback again.
TVOS - Beta 4
LG E7 OLED (Atmos supported)
Audio directly to TV (no external receiver)
Dolby Atmos. Not sure about eac3 or truehd. How can I find this out? I don’t have many Atmos encoded videos, but today I happened to watch 2 of them and noticed this behaviour on both videos. Never seen this with any other media so I assume that it’s tied to Atmos.

Not able to reproduce the issue running retail tvOS 15.1.1(19J581à and Infuse 7.3 beta 4(3923) on a 2nd gen Apple TV 4K.
Played (part of) a 2h35mn DV movie with DD+/Atmos audio and going forward or back 10s was quick.
My Tv setup is a bit complex but for the Apple TV the audio part appears as a LG SK9Y (2018) soundbar.
Which version of tvOS are you using ? (Beta 4 ??)
Thanks for testing. I’m running Beta4, 2021 AppleTV 4K.
Could be an Atmos handshake with my particular TV type? Fairly popular LG OLED set… I’d be curious for someone to test with similar setup and not into an external audio device (soundbar etc…)
Still not understood the version of tvOS you are running.
Do you have the same problem in other apps with Atmos content (Apple TV, incl. Apple TV+ trailers, or Netflix) ?
I have a similar issue to what you describe with Dolby Vision. When seeking, the TV flickers and Dolby Vision logo shows up. As if the Apple TV makes a new handshake on every seek.
I suspect the stack that handles Dolby codecs in Infuse is broken somewhere.
I amalso having issues with Atmos audio on Apple TV 4k.
Fast forwarding or,skipping a file with-an Atmos track doesn’t work. Stalls momentarily, sometimes not momentarily but 30 or more seconds. Before cstching up to wher it should be.
Also sometimes on resuming there is no sound. Need to stop video and on restarting select reume unless I want to go through it again.
This only happens with Atmos tracks.
All my video files are HEVC in mkv containers.
I guess I am asking if this is an infuse issue or an AppleTV one.
No other audio codec displays this issue.
Every Atmos track video does.
Hi James,
I am using latest release of all software, although I will double check. With regard to sending a sample file, how big or small should it be?
Hi James,
Infuse pro 7.5.8 (4470)
tvOS 16.5 (20L563)
I have made a 5 minute cut of an example video file with ATMOS soundtrack.
However I do not know how or where to upload it.
Clicking the upload button in the forum does not let me select the file (a mkv).
I repackaged file as mov but even a 5 min cut is to big to upload (seems 8MB is limit, my 5 min cut is 115MB).
