Pass metadata details via x-callback-url

No one asked these type of questions when it drove new license purchases

Same for me. It’s currently a blocker because sometimes I get a wrong sync from Trakt. This counts for both Fusion as well as some other tvOS app.

Thanks for your feedback.

We have been working on a few improvements in this area for the 8.4.2 8.4.4 update, so I have updated the tag on this thread.

Thanks for the update! One more thing that would be incredibly useful: if the callback could include playback position data (like the timestamp where the user paused or stopped). Right now, a lot of people end up relying on Trakt just to get that kind of scrobble/progress data, but if Infuse could pass it back natively via the callback, it would open up a lot of possibilities. it would also be great if could accept a resume position as an incoming parameter when launching playback via x-callback-url. Something like a “position” or “startAt” parameter so an external app can tell Infuse where to pick up from

+1 for this

+1 hoping to see it on the next update. i personally use apps that could really benefit from this feature.

100% this!

Thank you for considering it James!

+1 need this feature. Thanks for working it. This will make the viewing experience seem less with trakt.

@james will this feature make Infuse show the proper movie title when using an external app instead of showing a big file name or even random numbers?

Please for the love of dog, trakt is becoming super unstable.

building in support so we have options to not depend on an undependable service would be great.

It also be great to see integration with similar service to trakt not just trakt. So many thing support trakt and only trakt that the choice is either use trakt or nothing at all.

As a paying subscriber who relies heavily on Infuse, I really want to echo @streamingwarsstalema 's point. Building out x-callback-url support will make Infuse resilient and adaptable to a much wider ecosystem of third-party apps. Right now, the larger userbase leans heavily on Trakt, but as we have seen, relying solely on one service can be incredibly unstable.

Proper metadata passing via URL schemes gives us vital options. I currently use Fusion, and their developer has been putting in highly professional work to make it function perfectly with Infuse and Trakt. There are already clean, actionable proposals in this thread on how to handle this metadata handshake. Please consider collaborating with these external developers! It would genuinely make the Infuse experience so much better for those of us Fusion users, as well as anyone else relying on similar integrations.

+1 to this. This would make so many Apps on AppleTV so much better.

This has been added in today’s 8.4.4 update.
