I updated yesterday to the latest version of Infuse and I noticed that playing CMv4 P8 files still switch the TV to DV mode, but the RPU is ignored (also known as fake DV). I understand that only the 2022 model supports CMv4 in Profile 8 and that there is no plan to support it in the 2021 model, but it would be nice to fix it so that the TV goes in HDR mode when the DV playback is not supported.
It’s easily reproductible and I don’t think I need to provide you files/logs, but let me know if anything is needed.

Was curious if there is any update for this device in Infuse version 8.1, or the changes are only for the 2022 model. The release notes are vague on what profile 8 playback is actually improved and on what device.
Infuse 8.1 includes Dolby Vision improvements for all devices.
The Apple TV 4K (2022 model) will include the most expansive support for Profile 8, including support for videos which contain CMv4 data. This CMv4 data is not currently supported on older Apple TV 4K models.
Ok, thank you for the answer, but if it’s not supported on older models, it should not switch to DV playback, and it should just fail back to HDR. This is not what’s happening at the moment, and the 2021 model produces fake DV.

Was wondering if this problem will ever be fixed. I just tried the latest version 8.2.2 and the problem is still there: on the 2021 model, for P8 CMv4 files, the TV is still switched to DV mode even though the RPU is not supported. It should switch to HDR, and only switch to DV for the CMv2.9 files.
