Oversaturation "issues"

Hi all! So, long time user of MrMC, decided to try out Infuse too today, pro version. Everything looks quite good for all kind of files from SD to 4K HDR remux on my LG B7 Oled apart from the 4K videos from my Samsung S8. MrMC on ATV4K and VLC or MPC HC on my Asus 4K PC monitor show more realistic colors (although Samsung’s saturation in pics and videos is known) but Infuse takes it even further, showing reds and pinks for example way oversaturated. I don’t know if this oversaturation affects movies and tv shows (locally streamed from my NAS via gigabit LAN), I haven’t noticed anything so far but is this something to look into? Maybe a codec issue? Thanks for your time!

Welcome to the forum!

I don’t think we’ve had any similar reports, but we’d love to take a look at one of the videos that is giving you problems to see what is going on there.

If you have a chance, you can use the link below to upload a sample.

Thanks again!

Hi! Maybe some update on that? Tested it again with latest beta too, had the same issue.

Got your sample, and a quick test shows the color displayed by Infuse is consistent with other player apps (Apple’s Quicktime, VLC, MPV, IINA).

However, I agree the colors do look a bit unnatural. We’re going to take a deeper look to see if there is a Samsung-specific flag we’re missing, or if it’s just how the video is encoded.
