Intro skip is working perfectly but outro/credits skip does not work at all. I am submitting my own timestamps to IntroDB generated from same files I play in Infuse so I know they are correct and available but none of them work (Introvert app for those interested). I saw in another post that timestamps are cached locally for 30 days so I thought maybe intro timestamps prevented outro/credits timestamps from being pulled and I deleted local AppleTV Infuse cache but that did not resolve the issue. It doesn’t seem to work on macOS or iOS.
Can someone at least confirm that it is working well for them so I can at least know that issue is somewhere on my end?
Same here. I have an open report on this that’s been going about 2.5 months. Intros skip fine while credits/outro skipping stays broken, from 8.4.2 through the current version.
I also encountered the same issue, I was watching the tv show “Monster Legacy,” and even though the credits data exists in the database, Infuse does not show the skip credits button, only the next episode button. Then I cleared the cache and tried again, and the skip credits button appeared, so it seems the cache is not reliable.
On the iPad version, only the “Next Episode” button shows for me, and pressing it skips the credits instead of going to the next episode. This holds whether “Skip Intros & Credits” is set to On or to Auto (which works only for the intros). Clearing the cache leaves things the same for me. Also, just as an observation, as the credits begin, the “Skip Intro” button appears for a few frames ahead of “Next Episode.
I was messing around with it some more and on my iPad I got it to work. No idea which step did it but after many cache clearing and changing skip options it eventually started to auto skip credits.
Can’t get it to do that on any other device though.
We’ll take a look into the logs to see if we can find any issues that stand out.
One other thing to keep in mind is that Infuse will cache timestamps (or lack of timestamps) within the app for a period of time. This is intended to prevent requests originating from Infuse from overwhelming the online services as attempting to refresh timestamp data every time a video is played (or the video details page is opened) is not particularly efficient.
In other words, there is a delay in how often Infuse will check the online databases for updated timestamps. Clearing the metadata cache Infuse would reset this so that is a potential reason why that caused things to start working.
A few more observations from my side. I tested this across 5 titles on iPad and Mac, clearing the cache, changing the skip options, and even reinstalling the app, and the result stayed the same each time. The Skip Intro, Skip Recap, and Skip Preview buttons show, and they auto-skip on Auto (Instant or Delay) for every one of them. The Skip Credits button stays hidden, and the Next Episode button shows in its place. Pressing it skips straight through the credits, so the timecodes are reaching the device, though they surface on the wrong button while the automatic skip stays inactive.
I also blocked each database separately with DNS, to check for a conflict between the two, and the behavior held the same way. When I connect to a Jellyfin server and the timecodes come from there, the credits auto-skip properly.
Thanks for testing things too. I’ve also done some of the same steps you did by completely removing the app, deleting all cache and iCloud data with no success on devices other than iPad.
I found something weird by sniffing the network traffic. When I was watching episode 8, the data for the intro and outro of episode 9 didn’t even make a request. And after I finished watching episode 8, when it jumped to the next episode, it still didn’t request the data for episode 9.
There’s a huge problem with your intro/outro caching strategy.

I honestly don’t think it will go back to how it was before 8.4.2. When intro/outro scanning is enabled in Plex, it seems to conflict with the Infuse implementation. There also seems to be problems with the Infuse implementation itself.
Very often, no matter the show, the skip intro/outro buttons will flicker, disappear, or fail to appear at all. They have plenty of debug codes and the issue is easy to replicate.
This problem has rendered both the Plex and Infuse scanning useless.
