OpenSubtitles “Download Subtitles” option missing on Apple Vision Pro

Hi Firecore team,

I’m using Infuse on Apple Vision Pro and I’m running into what appears to be a missing feature or UI bug that I cannot find any way to manually search/download subtitles from OpenSubtitles on AVP.

On iPhone, iPad, macOS, and Apple TV, Infuse normally allows users to open the playback/advanced settings, go to the Subtitles section, and choose an option to download subtitles from OpenSubtitles. This is an important feature for media files that do not already include embedded or external subtitles.

On Apple Vision Pro, I can open the subtitle selection UI during playback, but I can only choose from subtitles that already exist. I do not see any option to search OpenSubtitles, download additional subtitles, or “Get More” subtitles.

What makes this especially confusing is that the Vision Pro version does include a general setting called “Download Subtitles,” and I have enabled it. However, enabling this setting still does not expose any manual OpenSubtitles search/download option during playback.

Impact:

This is a usability problem. For videos that do not include subtitles, the content can become effectively unwatchable if the viewer does not understand the spoken language. Subtitle download/search is one of the core reasons many users rely on Infuse, and losing this function on Vision Pro makes the Vision Pro version much less usable than the other Infuse platforms.

Could the team confirm whether manual OpenSubtitles search/download is supposed to be available on Apple Vision Pro? If it is supported, please clarify where the option is located, thanks.

Device/app details:

  • Device: Apple Vision Pro

  • visionOS version: visionOS 27.0 Dev 3

  • Infuse version/build: Infuse Pro 8.4.8

  • Media source: Emby

  • Subtitle setting enabled: Settings → General → Download Subtitles = On

A moderator deleted the Bug in title, so I assume this is a missing feature. In this case, please support manual subtitle matching for Vision Pro

Long thread titles tend to truncate on some platforms and readers so it makes it hard to read or understand the topic.

It’s not really necessary to label it a “Bug” since those who read it will be able to understand what you’re stating either way.

I see, thanks for clarifying
