Only the very last chapter is available for navigation

All of my content is MKV files with proper metadata, including chapters. I’ve verified in other programs (like MrMC, VLC, etc.) that all of the chapters in my files are available for navigation. However, in Infuse only the very last chapter for any file is shown, i.e., every file appears to only have one chapter. Is this a known issue?

Hmm, I don’t think we’ve seen anything like that here, but it could be related to how your files specifically are set up.

If you have a chance to send in a sample file, we can review it here and see what is going on.

Hi, I uploaded only_last_chapter.mkv. Sorry, it’s big, I don’t have anything that isn’t.

This is representative of my entire library… ripped from Blu-Ray to MKV via MakeMKV, then run MetaX to embed metadata. VLC, MrMC, etc. list all of the chapters, Infuse only shows the last one, regardless of where I stream it from – Plex or direct via SMB.

FYI, I was poking around with ffmpeg and I noticed that if I do a metadata dump there is indeed a [CHAPTER] section that contains only the last chapter. If I use “mkvextract chapters”, I get correct chapter info. I think you guys are using libffmpeg, right? Might want to see if there’s a way to get the chapter info embedded in the file rather than going by what’s in the metadata section.

Edit: in fact I do think MetaX is the one doing this, as the chapter information is correct through ffmpeg immediately after ripping but prior to running MetaX.

Got your sample, thanks!

We’ll look into this and see if we can improve how these sort of chapters are handled.

This should be resolved in todays 7.3.4 update.

Thanks for your patience.
