Not syncing everything to Trakt

I’m finding that if I start watching a film, it won’t start syncing to Trakt until I am some way through, is this on purpose? I also find that if I go back in the film, this isn’t reflected in Trakt, it only shows the furthest I got to in the film.

Some TV series don’t seem to sync at all until I get to the second episode, why is this?

Trakt recently changed their API and it caused several issues on syncing.

There are some changes coming in the 8.5 release to address some of these.
