I’ve successfully setup Infuse so I can browse my Kodi uPnP library, but can’t seem to create an SMB share to watch my home movies saved on the same PC. I don’t think it’s a firewall issue as I disabled Comodo and it still didn’t work.
Infuse lists the PC IP address, and I’ve left the WORKGROUP, USERNAME and PASSWORD fields all empty, but every time I tap save I get the error message: “an error occurred, the operation could not be completed”. The PC does have a password on it so I filled in the username and password with the PC’s credentials but still no joy.
I find it strange that Infuse can access the PC through a uPnP share but not through SMB. What am I doing wrong please?
Can anyone help?
I’m having trouble adding an SMB link in the iOS Infuse app. I can access the shares on any computer on my land, but every time I add the share in Infuse I get the error:
“an error occurred, the operation could not be completed”
I could do with some help resolving this. Can anyone help?
I believe streaming via SMB from Windows will require a user/password. There may be some way around this, but in all the tests we’ve done the credentials will be required.
Unfortunately, if you don’t have a password setup for your account this means you will need to create one. Sorry.
Hi there, thanks for your reply. But as I mentioned in my first post I already tried the windows account username and password and it still gives the same error.
I tried disabling my firewall as well, no different.
If this feature supposed to work?
Or more of a work in progress?
Thanks, but it’s switched on. I’ve been using SMB for yards on this PC.
My Android phone can see the SMB shares, my laptop can, my other pc can.
Every other app which uses supports SMB over LAN on my iPad can.
Basically only the iPad with Infuse is having problems.
Ps- I just created a second user account on the PC (guest) with username and password. Still no luck.
No matter whether I’m logged in I the PC under an admin account, or standard user, still it doesn’t work.

I’m having the exact same problems with OSX Yosemite. If I choose the share as the app sees it and enter my credentials all I get is “Your username and password isn’t right please try again”. If I try and create my own share by selecting “Other” and entering the SMB or IP address and login credentials, it says “An error occurred, the operation could not be completed”. I’ve tried guest accounts and creating another admin account but still nothing. Seems like this is not quite ready for prime time just yet. All complaining aside it is a great app! I just hope some one gets back to us sooner rather than later with a fix.
