is there/will there be an option to get some semblance of normalization when watching movies and series? having very very loud moments then quiet dialogues exhausts me. im not if any player has that option. not sure how feasible it is either
Not sure what speakers you are using. If you using a proper home theater, control of the dynamic range of sound codec is normally done on the hardware side connected to the speakers. Receiver, sound bar etc with the DAC/DSPs. In a proper home theater setup, if you adjust volume to normal dialogue levels and you get big range in some moments, that is by design of the designers. The hardware does have options to normalize as well for those not used to it. It’s like if you go to a theater, if a moment shakes the room, it’s by design.
The software should merely be passing the data to the hardware to process.
Infuse can also make use of the Apple TV’s Reduce Loud Sounds option if you have that enabled.
Go to Apple TV Settings > Video and Audio, scroll down to Reduce Loud Sounds, and turn it on.
