No Startup Music after upgrade to ATV 4.1

So I installed Apple TV update 3.0.2
Re-flashed the ATVflash 4.1 and everything seems fine with one small exception

During boot I see the normal Apple TV screens but the sound that goes with it is muted/missing
Now I quite like the startup sequence with music (sad i know) how do I get it back

This is a known issue and should be resolved soon.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one.

And 22 days on, the silence from fircore is deafening. Plenty of other issues but not one word. BULLSHIT!!!

You’re right KROO!!!

When you start selling your AppleTV patchstick, let me know so that we can purchase a better product from you…

  1. Your statement about “silence after 22 days” about lack of startup audio, is factually wrong. guardianmax (a forum moderator) responded about 8 hours later: “This is a known issue and should be resolved soon.”

  2. Furthermore, as noted on the forum post you link in your last missive; guardianmax responded substantively early Monday morning, with questions and suggestions.

  3. The next day: the originator of that thread (a self-declared IT professional), made an 180 degree turnaround, commenting: “Again, as much I was was upset with the aTV 4.1 release, if it hadn’t been so broken I never would have uncovered XBMC which is 1000 times better than Sapphire. Try it out and let me know what you think …” And others, including ATVFLASH, posted workarounds…

  4. Within one hour on a weekend, guardianmax posted a reply to your post. Having now read your post on this thread, I now know why I am not employed in a way that requires me to deal with the ungrateful public.

The fact of the matter is that this product is an amalgamation of many features created and supported by many developers. In the “old days” (2007-8), all we had was attempting to keep track of these efforts through the AwkwardTV website and its completely unmoderated forum – it was a nightmare.

Firecore brought to the table (in addition to selling the patchstick) a centralized source for information and updates – clearly worth the price of admission; as well as a source of compensation for the efforts of these tireless developers of a product that enhances a “hobby” in the eyes of Apple. Thank goodness these developers kept up their efforts and continue to make the AppleTV a better product, in spite of the efforts of Apple to shut their efforts down.

These efforts alone are well worth the price of admission!

As far as your ad hominem attack on me (“Troll”), I will place the quality of my posts on this forum up against yours anytime; especially since it appears that the only reason you joined this forum on March 28th was to spew negativity about this one problem.

So once again, I repeat: “When you start selling your AppleTV patchstick, let me know so that we can purchase a better product from you…”
