No mounts possible, can only run XBMC

I have an old aTV 1. Installed firmware 3.x, then Flashback 4.5. But no matter what I do (AFP, SMB, NFS) I cannot connect to any device (iMac, Nas). I either get the error about “no afpmount” of “no mount location, no volume … mount not possible”.

 

My first thought was a bad (wired) connection. However, XBMC has no problem connecting to the above mentioned devices.

 

I checked the forum but most links with a solution do not work anymore or the solution does not work.

 

So I am wondering is only XBMC works then I am probably better off using OpenElec. Or do you have a solution?

FWIW I have the same issue except XBMC won’t connect either and even the original Apple TV system no longer works so basically I’ve spent money to break my ATV. I could have just thrown it out the window and saved some money.

In the meantime I have installed OpenElec and this works perfectly. Wired and Wifi, both are fine.
