No audio, requiring file to be stopped snd restarted

Since the last upgrade to Infuse (8.4.1) and AppleTVOS (TvOS 26.4) many of the files I play have no Audio on initial play. I need to stop them and then restart them to get the audio. Sometimes a couple of times. The files are all the same.

Usually consecutive episodes of a TV series, but it can also happen with a movie. All files are mkv and encoded x265, audio tracks vary (but not within a series).

As I said this has only occurred since upgrading to the latest infuse and Apple TVOS.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Infuse is the only media player I use on AppleTV. I rarely use infuse on my other devices so I can’t say whether the issue is common.

I use the new setting and have had no issues so far.

Yes I saw this when initially researching this issue.

I checked my settings and Continuous Audio Connection is and was “ON”.

Bizarrely, if this was it, they have actually given me a problem that I never experienced before by “fixing” it.

So I think this is unlikely the issue.

I turned “continuous audio connection” off. It seems it was the issue but not as expected.

The issue seems to have gone. A whole day of viewing not requiring restarts if files.

I also noticed issues with my audio. Video playback would start right away but maybe half a second or so of no audio. This would happen on resume after pausing as well. Super annoying missing dialogue. Anyways, I turned this setting off and back to instant audio. :slightly_smiling_face: probably the recommendation would be for everybody to turn it off unless they are experiencing problems.
