I have tried several movies - mp4, mov and flv and are not getting any audio whatsoever. The majority are aac. Any ideas ?

I noticed that if I was in vibrate mode there is no sound. I changed to non-vibrate mode and sound worked.
Sorry, should have said i was using an iPad3. Not the iPhone. But thanks for the suggestion.
Mick.
Do you know if these files have more than one audio track? You can try switching tracks through the options panel that is available by clicking the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner while a video is playing.
If that doesn’t work, would you mind running one of the videos through MediaInfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en) and posting the specs?
James, all the Audio on the 6 Videos I have tried is single track. 5 are aac stereo and one is 2ch cpm.
MediaInfo for two files is attached.
I’m having the same issue. Old divx files will play ok, but newer MKV or MP4 files will not play sound. Makes me wish I hadn’t bought the app…
I am having the same issue. Video plays fine, but no sound. I checked and there is only one soundtrack. The video is listed as H.264, MPEG 4 part 10, and the soundtrack is listed as Dolby Digital. these files played fine in Azul. I was hoping for better playback of higher bit rate files.
Thanks for the details. We’re looking into this to see if we can track down the cause.
I’ll post an update in this thread once we have a bit more info.
FYI, I’m sure you’ve checked this, but the mute switch on the iPad will actually have the same effect.
If Infuse is telling you it’s unable to play the audio, it’s likely because that particular video has a DTS audio track, which is not currently supported. Sorry.
More Info - OK even “smart” people can be “stupid” Evidently Azul will play sound even when the sound is OFF in the multi-tasking tray. [ I have my mute switch mapped to rotation lock. ]
Anyway, now that I have the mute off, it works! And it plays high-bit-rate videos much better than Azul.
Well here’s another stupid smart person. Obviously now Music can be heard on the iPad with the mute switch on but Audio from Infuse is muted. So while I could play any media via the Music Button or the Video button and hear it I did in fact have the Mute switch on too.
Sorry for the incorrect reporting of a fault.
Mick.
No worries. I think we might just try and adjust how Infuse reacts to the mute switch to avoid confusion in the future.
How dificult it is to allow DTS Audio play?
No DTS support is a dealbreaker.
I wish I had read this before buying the app because 80% of my MKVs are DTS. Can I get a refund or know the possibility of including DTS support?
To be fair, DTS is not listed in the list of supported codecs on the firecore site or the appstore description. It’s a licensing issue (need to pay for a DTS license to do it legally, and DTS is notoriously difficult to work with since they are known to ignore or delay on licensing requests), but they’re apparently working on it:

When will Infuse support DTS?

Exactly!
When can we have any info or time estimate when this (in my opinion) deal breaker feature will be fixed?
I would gladly pay for a in-app option which unlocked this.

ps. otherwise Infuse is the best
