NitoTV with Cover Art

Everything is working great with the aTV flash software and NitoTV. I am currently using an external drive with all movies ripped to Video_TS files. I would like the movie art to be displayed on the NitoTV movie folders. Does anyone know how to do this?

Also, are there any updates coming for Sapphire that would allow it to read Video_TS files? It just seems like such a polished interface. Its a shame that it doesn’t read those files yet.

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I looked it up on Sapphire’s web page FAQ and this is what I found for you.

Q: Does Sapphire Support VIDEO_TS (the VOB format)?
We are currently only supporting VIDEO_TS (DVD) playback through beta 5 running on Leopard.

Let me see about the artwork question.

nitoTV can be setup to utilize cover art downloaded by Sapphire.

Navigate to nitoTV > Setting > General and select the ‘Cover Art Location’ setting.

Replace the last part of the location path

‘nito/images’

with

‘Sapphire/Collection Art/@MOVIES

This will allow nitoTV To utilize any cover art download by Sapphire.

Thanks for putting that up.

My nitoTV does not work any longer after replacing the last part of the path?? And when I look under “Cover Art Location” there is no path at all?? Anyone who would give my the full path again?

If you want to use the Sapphire images, change it to:

/Users/frontrow/Library/Application Support/Sapphire/Collection Art/@MOVIES

I’m trying to get any cover art for my DVD’s oon the ATV.

I have a DVD called " Teletubbies - 1" in the map files in Nito TV
I have a jpg called “Teletubbies - 1” in the map images in Nito

But i see no cover art …

What am i doing wrong ?

Regards, Joep

The jpg file name must be EXACTLY the same as the DVD folder name. In your example, you have a space before Teletubbies, which is different than the JPG name. Make them the same and you should be good.

I find that storing the jpg inside of the VOB/DVD folder works great. You don’t have change any settings for Nito to find the cover art and later if you move or delete a folder, you aren’t left with an orphan jpg in your image folder. Plus if you ever have to archive or move stuff around it’s one less thing to worry about. Managing 1,000 jpg’s can get tough. 1:1 per folder is much easier.

@Snooch:

so you re using Sapphire to find the images in the DVD folders on the drive and store them on “/Sapphire/Collection Art/@MOVIES” and then let NitoTV look into this folder for images? right?

If i didnt understand please correct me cause i have folders on a nas drive called e.g. “Transporter” with a cover image called cover.jpg in this folder.
Will the “Sapphire-Method” work for me? Wanna see covers, too

Thanks!

ATVFlash users,

I’ve just been able to successfully install the ATVFlash 4.0.1 update and ran the Smart Installer to update things. The only thing that I’ve noticed that seems to be broken is the ability for nitoTV to be able to use the cover art from the Sapphire cover art import. As I understand it Sapphire now uses IMDB numbers, instead of file names.jpg. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might be able to leverage Sapphire cover art, while using the nitoTV interface? I prefer to use nitoTV, since I can navigate shared folders, instead of trying to find movies by genre or go through the whole list.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Same here I can’t get my updated nito to play the sapphire cover art… please help in getting this part to work again in Nito

Same here…

Not only it doesn’t work with the Sapphire path, even with image files in nito/images/, I don’t get any poster images.

C’mon guys, make it work as it was before!

Is this still relevant??

Unfortunately not.

Previous versions of Sapphire used the movie name for image files. The current version uses IMBb numbers which will not be recognized by nitoTV.
