nito tv not playing wmv file - says format not supported

I am not technical at all and only seem to be able to find support for either super techie people or for those using Macs.

I am using Windows to download wmv files too and then Filezilla to transfer them to my Apple TV.  However, when I go into nito tv, I get the message "the format was not recognised".  Can anhyone provide a simple to follow fix please!!!!

Go to Maintenance, click on "Install Extras" and then install both Perian and Flip4Mac WMV. After installation is complete, ATV Flash will ask you to restart Apple TV.

 

Voila!
